Sweetheart Hoya kerrii Vine, 4-Inch Pot
Unlike a single-heart leaf cutting, this Sweetheart Hoya kerrii is a vining plant with multiple thick, green heart-shaped leaves along its stems. Let it grow from a bright shelf or offer a small support. Leaf number, spacing, and vine length vary naturally.
Size and what ships
One live Hoya kerrii vine in a 4-inch nursery grow pot. Exact plant height, fullness, and vine length at shipping vary. Given time and suitable care, vines can lengthen and grow more heart-shaped leaves; mature length is not the size delivered. Flowering is possible on established plants but is not guaranteed.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright indirect light, with gentle morning sun if conditions allow. Protect leaves from harsh afternoon sun.
- Water: Let much of the potting mix dry between thorough waterings, then allow excess to drain. Check the pot rather than watering on a fixed schedule.
- Soil: Use a chunky, airy, well-draining mix in a pot with drainage.
- Temperature and humidity: Keep warm, away from frost and cold drafts. Average indoor humidity is usually fine; moderate humidity may support active growth.
- Feeding: Feed lightly with diluted balanced fertilizer during spring and summer growth if needed; reduce in winter.
- Pruning and support: Allow vines to trail or guide them onto a small support. Trim above a node to shape growth, but avoid removing old flower spurs if present.
- Propagation: Root stem cuttings with at least one node in an airy, lightly moist medium. A single leaf without a node does not reliably make a vine.
Pet safety
Hoya is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, though it is best to discourage pets from chewing houseplants.
Optional planter
This 4-inch nursery pot fits inside the white Basel 4.7-inch planter with a little room around it. Basel in the styled photo is sold separately; the Hoya ships in its nursery grow pot. Furnishings are not included.
