Rich Houseplant Soil Blend: Small-Batch, Nutrient-Rich Mix

Give your houseplants a rich foundation with our small-batch houseplant soil blend. We mix every batch ourselves to hold moisture and nutrients while still draining well, balancing organic ingredients with perlite for an airy growing medium.

Portion size and coverage

One portion fills approximately two empty 6-inch pots or six empty 4-inch pots. Actual coverage varies with pot depth and shape; plant roots displace some soil when repotting.

What’s inside

• Aged forest humus: A rich organic base that supports soil structure.
• Coconut coir / sphagnum peat: Helps retain moisture between waterings.
• Earthworm castings: A natural source of nutrients and organic matter.
• Bat guano: Adds natural nutrients to the blend.
• Fish and crab meal: Organic nutrient sources from the sea.
• Perlite: Helps keep the mix light and airy for drainage and root aeration.

Suggested uses

For pothos, philodendron, monstera, peace lily, ferns, calathea, and many tropical and foliage houseplants. Also suitable for repotting and refreshing depleted growing medium. For snake plants and ZZ plants, match the blend and watering routine to their preference for drying between waterings.

Tips for best results

Check moisture before watering and follow the needs of your particular plant rather than a fixed watering schedule. Do not sit in standing water.
