Pink Christmas Cactus & White BASEL Planter Bundle pairs the jointed green stems and seasonal pink flowers of Schlumbergera with a rounded white BASEL planter. This tropical holiday cactus makes an inviting indoor display even outside its flowering season.

Points of interest

  • Selected for pink flowers, with shades influenced by growing conditions.
  • Jointed stems develop an arching habit as the plant matures.
  • One white BASEL 4.7-inch decorative planter is included.
  • A tropical forest cactus that prefers gentler light and more regular moisture than desert cacti.
  • Holiday bloom timing depends on conditions and is not guaranteed.

What ships and estimated mature size

Includes one live pink-flowering Christmas cactus in a 4-inch nursery pot and one white BASEL 4.7-inch planter. Pot diameter is not plant height. Height, spread, branching and bud development vary naturally. Buds and open blooms at delivery are not guaranteed, and shipping or environmental changes may cause bud drop.

With time and suitable care, a mature plant may reach approximately 12–18 inches tall and 18–24 inches wide, with stems arching beyond its pot. Growth depends on age, pruning, light and container size.

Included planter and setup

The white BASEL planter has a 4.7-inch opening and no drainage hole. Check the nursery pot's actual width and height against the planter interior. Keep the plant in its draining nursery pot, remove it for watering, let it drain completely, and empty collected water before returning it to the decorative planter. Only the white planter is included in this version.

Care guide

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun can suit an acclimated plant, but protect from intense afternoon sun and hot glass.
  • Water: Water thoroughly when the upper inch of mix feels dry, then let excess water drain. Keep lightly moist during active growth without leaving roots saturated. Avoid prolonged desert-cactus drought routines and never leave water in the outer planter.
  • Soil and drainage: Use an airy, freely draining mix that retains some moisture. Our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend is an optional additional supply, sold separately; monitor drying closely and adjust watering for this tropical cactus. Always retain a nursery pot with drainage holes.
  • Temperature and humidity: Provide comfortable indoor temperatures, moderate humidity and airflow. Protect from frost, cold drafts, hot vents and sudden changes.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth according to label directions. Our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer is sold separately. Avoid doubling up on fertilizer in already-fed mix and reduce or pause feeding during rest and bud setting.
  • Encouraging flowers: In autumn, provide several weeks of uninterrupted long, dark nights and cooler nights without frost. Evening room lights can interfere with bud formation. Once buds develop, maintain consistent light, watering and temperature and avoid repeatedly moving the plant.
  • Pruning and maintenance: After flowering, gently pinch or trim stem segments with clean tools to encourage branching. Remove spent blooms and inspect stem joints for pests. Allow the plant to acclimate after arrival.
  • Repotting: Repot after flowering when roots fill the container, into a slightly larger draining pot. Avoid disturbing roots during bud development and recheck decorative-planter fit afterward.
  • Propagation: Healthy stem sections can be allowed to callus briefly before rooting in lightly moist, airy mix. Avoid saturated conditions.
  • Troubleshooting: Bud drop can follow shipping, drought or sudden environmental changes. Limp segments can reflect dry roots or overwatering, so check the mix before watering. Soft stems with wet soil warrant checking drainage.

Pet safety: Schlumbergera holiday cacti are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, but chewing plant material can cause stomach upset. Keep plants and potting mix out of reach.

The live plant and white BASEL planter are included. Additional soil, fertilizer and styling accessories are optional and sold separately.
