Pot Style

Rose Quartz Peanut Cactus (Chamaelobivia) forms clusters of ribbed, finger-like stems with fine spines. Its compact shape adds texture to a sunny windowsill or sheltered patio, while established plants can produce large, vivid red flowers in spring and summer.

Points of interest

  • Peanut-like stems gradually develop into a spreading cluster.
  • Showy seasonal flowers contrast with the green stems; flowering depends on maturity and growing conditions.
  • Drought-tolerant growth suits a bright spot and a careful, soak-and-dry watering routine.

What you’ll receive and mature size

One live Rose Quartz Peanut Cactus in the selected container option. Plant size, branching, and bloom status vary naturally. Mature clusters generally remain low-growing, roughly 6–12 inches tall, and can spread wider over time. Terracotta pots and other lifestyle props shown in styled photos are not included.

Optional growing supplies

For future repotting, shop our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend. Our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents is an optional feeding supply; follow its label directions and feed sparingly during active growth. Both products are sold separately and are not included with the plant.

Care guide

  • Light: Provide very bright light with several hours of direct sun. Acclimate gradually to outdoor sun and protect from intense afternoon heat if stems show scorching.
  • Water: Water thoroughly during active growth, then allow the soil to dry completely before watering again. Reduce watering substantially during cool winter rest. Never leave the pot standing in water.
  • Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus mix with added pumice or perlite and a container with drainage holes.
  • Temperature and humidity: Dry air and good ventilation suit this cactus. A cooler, bright winter rest can encourage flowering. Although somewhat cold tolerant, protect from frost, freezing temperatures, and prolonged cold rain.
  • Feeding: Apply diluted cactus fertilizer sparingly during spring and summer growth. Do not feed during winter rest.
  • Pruning: Remove fully dry flowers and damaged stems carefully, using gloves or tools to avoid spines.
  • Repotting: Repot when the cluster becomes crowded, using a modestly larger pot. Handle gently to avoid breaking stems.
  • Propagation: Root healthy offsets or stem sections after allowing the cut surfaces to callus. Use a dry, well-draining mix initially and avoid excessive moisture.

Pet and child safety

Keep out of reach of pets and children: its spines can cause injury. This cactus is ornamental and not intended for eating.
