Pothos N’Joy (Epipremnum aureum), 4-Inch Pot
Pothos N’Joy (Epipremnum aureum) brings crisp white-and-green variegation to a bright shelf. Its compact, patterned leaves can gradually grow on trailing stems, making it a cheerful choice for a small indoor space. Each leaf has its own pattern, and variegation, fullness, and vine length vary from plant to plant.
Size and what ships
One live Pothos N’Joy in a 4-inch nursery grow pot. Exact height, fullness, and vine length at shipping vary. With time and care, stems can trail or climb much farther than the plant delivered; long mature vines are not what ships.
Care guide
- Light: Bright indirect light helps keep its white variegation and supports healthy growth. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun; in low light, growth may slow and new leaves may have less white.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry, then allow excess to drain. Adjust to light and season rather than following a fixed schedule.
- Soil: Use a loose, well-draining indoor potting mix in a pot with drainage.
- Temperature and humidity: Keep in warm indoor conditions away from frost and drying heat vents. Average household humidity is generally suitable.
- Feeding: Feed lightly with diluted balanced houseplant fertilizer about monthly during spring and summer growth if needed; reduce in winter.
- Pruning and support: Trim above a node to shape the vines or offer a trellis to encourage climbing. Rotate the pot for even growth.
- Propagation: Stem cuttings containing a node can root in water or moist potting mix; a leaf without a node will not make a new vine.
Pet safety
Pothos contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate a pet’s mouth if chewed. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
Optional planter
The 4-inch nursery pot fits inside the white Basel 4.7-inch planter with a little room around it. The Basel planter in the styled photo is sold separately; the plant ships in its nursery grow pot. Furnishings are not included.
