Peperomia San Marino brings silvery-green, deeply patterned leaves and reddish stems to a bright desk or shelf. Its compact foliage and slender flower spikes offer plenty of detail without taking up much space. Leaf color, fullness and flower spikes vary naturally; flowers are not guaranteed.

Points of interest and size

  • One live plant in a 4-inch nursery grow pot.
  • A young tabletop plant when shipped; exact height and fullness vary.
  • Expect a compact mature plant, generally around 8–12 inches tall excluding flower spikes, depending on growing conditions.

What you receive

One live Peperomia San Marino in its 4-inch nursery grow pot. Decorative planters and furnishings are not included.

Optional decorative planters

Pair it with the black BASEL 4.7-inch planter or white BASEL 4.7-inch planter. Decorative planters are sold separately and not included with the plant.

Care guide

  • Light: Bright filtered or indirect light supports healthy growth. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun.
  • Water: Allow the upper 1–2 inches of mix to dry before watering thoroughly, then drain excess water. Avoid constantly wet roots and standing water. Do not routinely let the entire root ball become bone dry. Reduce watering in cooler, darker conditions.
  • Soil: Use a loose, well-draining mix with organic matter and perlite. Shop our Rich Houseplant Soil Blend, hand-blended in small batches and sold separately; add perlite as needed for aeration. Use a nursery pot with drainage holes.
  • Temperature and humidity: Aim for 65–80°F, away from cold drafts and hot, drying vents. Typical household humidity is generally suitable.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth according to fertilizer label directions. Shop our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents, sold separately. Reduce or pause feeding during inactivity and extreme heat or cold. Avoid feeding stressed or newly repotted plants.
  • Pruning: Remove damaged leaves and spent flower spikes with clean scissors. Avoid removing most healthy foliage at once.
  • Repotting: Check roots every 1–2 years and repot only when crowded. Move up one pot size into fresh airy mix, retaining the original planting depth.
  • Propagation: Healthy leaf cuttings with a short petiole can root in lightly moist, airy medium in warm indirect light. Healthy stem cuttings with a node are another option. Take only a small number of cuttings from an established plant.

Pet safety
