Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum), 3.5–4-Inch Pot
Bring lush greenery to a shelf or side table with a live Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum). Glossy, deep green, lance-shaped leaves arch from the base. Under favorable conditions it may produce upright white spathes surrounding a central flower spike; blooms are seasonal.
Points of interest and size
- One live Peace Lily, approximately 8–12 inches tall in a 3.5–4-inch nursery grow pot.
- Estimated mature indoor size: roughly 1–3 feet tall and wide, depending on growing conditions and variety.
- Foliage fullness, leaf shape, exact height and blooming vary naturally.
Care guide
- Light: Medium to bright indirect light supports vigorous growth and possible flowering. It can tolerate lower light, but blooms may be less likely. Shield leaves from harsh direct afternoon sun.
- Water: Check the mix regularly. When the upper inch begins to feel dry, water thoroughly until excess drains. Aim for lightly moist soil rather than prolonged sogginess or complete, repeated drying; water less often in cooler, dimmer conditions.
- Soil: Use a moisture-retentive but well-draining indoor potting mix, such as a peat- or coir-based mix amended with perlite, in a pot with drainage holes.
- Humidity and temperature: Moderate to higher household humidity helps prevent crispy tips. Keep warm, away from cold drafts, heating vents and strong air conditioning.
- Feeding: During active spring and summer growth, apply a balanced houseplant fertilizer at a diluted label rate about every 4–6 weeks. Reduce or pause in winter; too much fertilizer can brown leaf tips.
- Pruning: Remove spent spathes and yellow or damaged leaves at their bases with clean scissors. Wipe dusty leaves gently to keep their sheen.
- Repotting: Check the roots every 1–2 years; if crowded, move up one pot size into fresh mix in spring, maintaining the original planting depth. Water in and let the pot drain.
- Propagation: Divide an established clump when repotting. Gently separate rooted sections with leaves attached, pot each into fresh mix and keep evenly moist while it settles. Leaf cuttings alone will not make a new plant.
Pet safety
Not pet-safe: Peace Lily contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth and cause drooling or vomiting if cats or dogs chew it. Keep out of reach, and contact a veterinarian if a pet eats any part.
What you receive
One live Peace Lily in its 3.5–4-inch nursery pot. Blooming is not guaranteed. Decorative planters and room accessories in styled photos are not included.
Optional decorative planter
For a separate finishing touch, explore the white Basel 4.7-inch planter, sold separately. Its opening measures 4.7 inches; measure the nursery pot’s outside width before ordering to confirm fit. Basel has no drainage hole, so remove the grow pot for watering and let it drain before returning it.
