Neon Queen Pothos – 4-Inch Pot
Neon Queen Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) brings bright yellow-green and green variegated foliage to your indoor plant collection. Its broad, heart-shaped leaves and trailing stems add lively color to a shelf or elevated planter. Let the vines cascade naturally, or train them onto a support for a climbing display.
Points of interest
- Yellow-green and green variegation creates a bright foliage accent; patterns vary from leaf to leaf.
- Trailing vines can be trimmed for a fuller appearance or guided onto a trellis.
- An approachable houseplant for beginners, with soil-based watering and adaptable indoor growth.
- Bright, indirect light supports stronger growth and helps maintain colorful foliage.
What ships and estimated mature size
You will receive one live Neon Queen Pothos in a 4-inch nursery grow pot. Leaf pattern, fullness, and vine length vary naturally. Decorative planters are sold separately and are not included.
With time and suitable growing conditions, indoor vines can reach approximately 6–10 feet long. Pruning keeps the plant compact, and a support allows climbing growth.
Optional planter pairing
For a decorative finish, consider the white BASEL 4.7-inch planter or black BASEL 4.7-inch planter. Decorative planters are sold separately and are not included with the plant.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Lower light is tolerated but can slow growth and reduce the brightness of variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which may scorch leaves.
- Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry before watering thoroughly. Let excess water drain away, and do not leave the pot standing in water. Check soil moisture rather than watering on a fixed schedule; water less often in cooler or dimmer conditions.
- Soil: Use a well-draining indoor potting mix, amended with perlite or orchid bark if needed. Choose a pot with drainage holes. Ready to repot? Shop our Rich Houseplant Soil Blend, hand-blended in small batches and sold separately; add perlite or orchid bark as needed to maintain aeration and drainage.
- Temperature: Aim for approximately 65–80°F. Protect from frost, temperatures below 55°F, and cold or hot drafts.
- Humidity: Typical household humidity is generally suitable. Moderate humidity supports healthy growth; a humidifier can help in very dry rooms.
- Feeding: During active spring and summer growth, use a balanced slow-release houseplant fertilizer according to its label directions. Shop our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents, sold separately. Reduce or pause feeding when growth slows or during extreme heat or cold, and avoid fertilizing a stressed plant.
- Pruning and training: Trim long stems just above a node with clean tools to encourage a fuller display. Guide vines onto a trellis or moss pole if you prefer climbing growth. Keep stems away from surfaces you do not want aerial roots to attach to.
- Maintenance: Wipe dust from leaves with a soft damp cloth, rotate the pot periodically, and remove yellow or damaged foliage. Inspect leaf undersides and stem joints for mealybugs, scale, and spider mites.
- Repotting: Repot when roots crowd the container or the mix dries unusually quickly, usually every 1–2 years depending on growth. Choose a draining pot only slightly larger than the current one.
- Propagation: Healthy stem cuttings with at least one node can root in water or moist potting mix. A leaf without a node will not grow a new vine.
- Troubleshooting: Yellowing leaves with wet soil can suggest overwatering. Wilting with dry soil may signal thirst. Pale or scorched patches can result from too much direct sunlight, while stretched growth may indicate insufficient light.
Pet safety: Not safe for pets.
