Flapjacks Kalanchoe brings bold, paddle-shaped leaves to a bright windowsill or patio. Its fleshy green leaves can develop red margins with stronger light, giving this sculptural succulent a warm glow. You’ll receive one live rooted plant in a 4-inch grow pot. Decorative terracotta pots shown in styled photos are props and are not included.

Points of interest: Broad, stacked leaves create a striking upright rosette. Red edging varies by season and light exposure; a plant grown in gentler light may arrive greener.

Size and growth: Ships in a 4-inch grow pot; actual plant height and width vary. With time, the rosette can expand beyond its starting pot and may develop a taller stem as it matures. Mature size and color depend on growing conditions.

Care guide

  • Light: Provide abundant bright light with some direct sun for stronger red edges. Introduce full sun gradually to prevent scorching, especially after indoor growth.
  • Water: Water thoroughly once the mix dries out, allowing excess to drain. Reduce watering during cooler or slower-growing periods and avoid water sitting in the center of the leaves.
  • Soil: Use a gritty, fast-draining succulent mix and a pot with drainage holes.
  • Temperature: Protect from frost and prolonged cold, wet weather; bring container plants indoors when temperatures turn chilly.
  • Feeding: Feed sparingly with diluted succulent fertilizer during active growth if desired.
  • Pruning: Remove fully dried lower leaves with clean hands or tools; avoid bruising healthy leaves.
  • Repotting: Move into a slightly larger draining pot when roots crowd the container, keeping the leaf crown above soil level.
  • Propagation: If offsets develop, separate them after they have roots and establish them in fast-draining mix.

Pet and child safety: Kalanchoe can be toxic if eaten. Keep this plant out of reach of pets and children and do not allow ingestion.
