Haworthia ‘Wide Zebra’ is a compact succulent with dark green, pointed leaves marked by extra-wide, raised white bands. Sold as Haworthia attenuata ‘Wide Zebra’, this sculptural little plant brings bold texture to a bright windowsill or small indoor plant collection without demanding much space or frequent watering.

Points of interest

  • Raised white bands contrast with deep green foliage for a distinctive zebra-striped appearance.
  • Slow-growing rosettes stay compact and can gradually produce offsets around the base.
  • Tolerates gentler light than many sun-loving succulents, but grows best with bright, indirect light.
  • A good choice for a small-space succulent collection, with time to dry thoroughly between waterings.

What ships and estimated mature size

You will receive one live Haworthia ‘Wide Zebra’ growing in a 4-inch nursery pot. The pot size describes the container, not the plant’s height or spread. Plant size, leaf markings, and the number of offsets vary naturally. Decorative planters and styling accessories are not included and are sold separately.

Estimated mature size: an individual rosette typically reaches about 4–6 inches tall and wide, with established offset clusters eventually spreading wider. Growth depends on light, growing conditions, and time.

Care guide

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun can work with gradual acclimation; protect from intense midday or afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. Avoid a dim location for long-term growth.
  • Water: Let the potting mix dry completely before watering thoroughly, then allow excess water to drain. Never leave the pot standing in water, and avoid trapping water in the rosette. Water less when growth slows or conditions are cool; check the soil rather than following a fixed schedule.
  • Soil: Use a gritty, fast-draining succulent mix in a pot with drainage holes. Ready to repot? Our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend is sold separately. Avoid dense soil that stays wet around the roots.
  • Temperature and humidity: Typical indoor temperatures of about 60–80°F suit this plant well. Protect from frost, freezing temperatures, and cold drafts. Average household humidity is suitable; misting is unnecessary.
  • Feeding: Feed sparingly during active growth. If using our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents, sold separately, follow the label directions and avoid overfeeding. Skip feeding when growth is paused, during extreme heat or cold, or while roots are stressed.
  • Pruning: No shaping is normally needed. Gently remove fully dried lower leaves and spent flower stalks with clean tools, without damaging the healthy rosette.
  • Repotting: Repot when the roots or offset cluster crowd the container, usually every few years. Choose a pot only slightly larger than the root system, with drainage, and handle the roots gently.
  • Propagation: Separate well-developed offsets with their own roots during repotting. Let any cut surfaces dry and callus before planting in a dry, well-draining mix, then resume watering cautiously as the plants establish.

Pet safety: Haworthia is generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, but keep plants out of reach to discourage chewing and possible stomach upset.
