Gasteraloe ‘Okavango’ brings sculptural texture to a sunny shelf with its compact rosette of pointed, fleshy dark green leaves marked by pale horizontal spots and stripes. Its upright form makes a striking small-space accent. You’ll receive one live plant in a 4-inch grow pot. Decorative terracotta pots shown in styled photos are props and are not included.

Points of interest: Pale raised-looking markings contrast with deep green leaves, and fresh growth emerges from the center. Each plant’s shape and markings vary naturally.

Size and growth: Ships in a 4-inch grow pot; plant height and fullness vary. The existing listing estimates up to about 6 inches tall as it matures. It may gradually produce offsets in favorable conditions; size and growth rate vary with care.

Care guide

  • Light: Give bright indirect light and some gentle morning sun. Acclimate gradually and protect from harsh midday sun.
  • Water: Water thoroughly after the potting mix dries out, then let excess drain. Water less during cooler or slower-growing periods; never leave the pot sitting in water.
  • Soil: Use a gritty, fast-draining succulent mix in a container with drainage holes.
  • Temperature: Keep warm and protect from frost and prolonged cold, wet conditions.
  • Feeding: If desired, feed sparingly with diluted succulent fertilizer during active growth.
  • Pruning: Remove fully dried or damaged leaves with clean tools; avoid damaging the center of the rosette.
  • Repotting: Move up just one pot size when roots crowd the container, keeping the crown above the soil line.
  • Propagation: If offsets form, allow them to develop roots before gently separating and potting into a draining mix.

Pet and child safety: Gasteraloe is considered non-toxic to pets. Keep the plant and potting mix out of reach of pets and small children to discourage chewing or ingestion.
