Porcupine Agave (Agave victoriae-reginae) forms a tight, geometric rosette of deep green leaves traced with crisp white markings. Its sculptural shape looks striking on a sunny windowsill or patio table. You’ll receive one live plant established in a 4-inch grow pot; decorative terracotta pots shown in styled photos are props and are not included.

Size and growth: Ships in a 4-inch grow pot. This slow-growing agave can develop a larger, broader rosette over time; its eventual size and shape depend on light, care, and growing conditions. The plant you receive may vary naturally from the photos.

Care guide

  • Light: Give bright light, ideally with some direct sun. Acclimate gradually to stronger sun to avoid leaf scorch.
  • Water: Water thoroughly when the soil has dried out, then allow excess water to drain. Water less in cooler months and avoid leaving water pooled in the rosette or saucer.
  • Soil: Use a gritty, fast-draining cactus or succulent mix in a pot with drainage holes.
  • Temperature: Protect container-grown plants from frost and prolonged cold, wet conditions.
  • Feeding: Fertilize sparingly with diluted succulent fertilizer during active growth if desired.
  • Pruning: Remove only fully dried lower leaves with clean tools; avoid damaging the growing center.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots fill the pot, choosing a slightly larger container with drainage and handling leaf tips carefully.
  • Propagation: If offsets form, they can be separated once established; growth is slow.

Pet and child safety: Porcupine Agave is considered non-toxic to pets. Its leaf tips can be sharp and its sap may irritate skin, so keep it out of reach of pets and children and wear gloves when handling.
