Bring a fresh wash of green to a shelf or desk with Green Queen Pothos (Epipremnum aureum). Its glossy, heart-shaped green leaves grow along flexible stems that can trail from a shelf or climb a support as the plant develops. This is a compact young plant at shipping size, with vine length and fullness varying naturally.

Points of interest and size

  • One live Green Queen Pothos in a 4-inch nursery grow pot; current vine length and fullness vary.
  • Estimated mature indoor vine length: about 3–6 feet with suitable care and time; trim to maintain a shorter display.
  • Solid green leaves bring an easy-to-style contrast to patterned foliage nearby.

Care guide

  • Light: Bright indirect light supports fuller growth, though the plant can tolerate somewhat lower light. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sun.
  • Water: Water thoroughly when the upper 1–2 inches of soil dry, then let excess drain away. Avoid leaving roots in standing water and reduce frequency in cooler, dimmer months.
  • Soil: Use a loose, well-draining indoor or aroid mix with perlite in a container with drainage holes.
  • Humidity and temperature: Average household humidity is usually suitable. Keep warm and away from cold drafts and hot drying vents.
  • Feeding: During spring and summer growth, use balanced houseplant fertilizer diluted according to its label about monthly. Reduce or pause in winter.
  • Pruning: Trim a long stem just above a node to control length and encourage branching; remove damaged leaves with clean scissors. Let stems trail or guide them around a support.
  • Repotting: Check roots every 1–2 years. If crowded, move up one pot size into fresh draining mix and maintain the original planting depth.
  • Propagation: Root a healthy vine cutting containing at least one node in water or lightly moist mix in bright indirect light, then pot once roots are established.
