White Flower Christmas Cactus – 4-Inch Pot
White Flower Christmas Cactus brings a soft seasonal accent to a bright indoor space with branching green segments and white blooms when conditions are right. This tropical holiday cactus, a Schlumbergera, prefers gentler light and more regular moisture than desert cacti. Its stems develop an attractive arching habit as the plant grows.
Points of interest
- Selected for white flowers; bud and flower appearance can vary with temperature and growing conditions.
- Flattened, jointed green stems create texture even outside the flowering season.
- A tropical forest cactus, not a full-sun desert cactus.
- Commonly sold as Christmas cactus; holiday-cactus bloom timing varies and is not guaranteed for a particular holiday.
What ships and estimated mature size
You receive one live white-flowering Christmas cactus in a 4-inch nursery pot. Plant height, spread, branching and bud development vary naturally; the pot size is not the plant's height. Photos show a representative plant with unopened buds. Buds and open blooms at delivery are not guaranteed, and buds may drop in response to shipping or environmental changes. Decorative planters are not included.
With time and suitable care, a mature container plant may reach approximately 12–18 inches tall and 18–24 inches wide, with stems arching beyond the pot. Growth varies with age, light, pruning and container size.

Optional planter pairing
For an indoor display, pair your Christmas cactus with the white BASEL 4.7-inch planter or black BASEL 4.7-inch planter, sold separately. These BASEL planters have a 4.7-inch opening. Check the actual width and height of your nursery pot against the planter’s interior fit before ordering. Decorative planters have no drainage hole: keep the plant in its draining nursery pot, remove it for watering, let it drain fully, and empty collected water before returning it to the decorative planter. The plant and decorative planter are separate purchases.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun can be suitable after gradual acclimation, but protect from intense afternoon sun. Avoid dark corners and hot glass.
- Water: Water thoroughly when the upper inch of potting mix feels dry, then let excess water drain. Keep the mix lightly moist during active growth and flowering without leaving it saturated. Do not follow a prolonged-drought routine used for desert cacti. Empty saucers and outer planters after watering.
- Soil and drainage: Use an airy mix that drains freely while retaining some moisture. Our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend is an optional, separately sold supply; monitor drying closely and adjust watering for this tropical cactus. Always use a pot with drainage holes.
- Temperature and humidity: Provide comfortable indoor temperatures, moderate humidity and good airflow. Protect from frost, hot air vents, cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
- Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth according to the fertilizer label. Our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents is sold separately. Avoid adding extra fertilizer to an already-fed mix, and reduce or pause feeding during the rest and bud-setting period.
- Encouraging flowers: In autumn, provide several weeks of uninterrupted long, dark nights and cooler nights, without exposing the plant to frost. Evening room lights can interfere with bud formation. Once buds develop, keep light, watering and temperature consistent and avoid repeatedly moving the plant. Flowering depends on conditions and plant maturity.
- Repotting: Repot after flowering when roots fill the container, using a slightly larger pot with drainage. Avoid disturbing roots while buds are developing.
- Pruning and routine care: After flowering, gently pinch or trim stem segments with clean tools to encourage branching. Remove spent blooms and inspect stem joints for pests. Acclimate gradually after arrival.
Pet safety: Schlumbergera holiday cacti are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, but chewing plant material can cause stomach upset. Keep plants and potting mix out of reach.
