Tiger Jaw (Faucaria tigrina) forms a low cluster of fleshy, triangular leaves with toothlike edges that give the plant its name. Despite the fierce look, it is a compact succulent for a bright windowsill or small container garden. Mature plants can produce daisy-like flowers under suitable conditions.
Size & what you’ll receive
Ships as a live plant in a 2.5-inch plastic nursery pot. Individual specimens vary in height, spread, and number of leaf pairs. As it matures, it can form a wider cluster of offsets; final size depends on growing conditions and container space. Terracotta pots in styled photos are props and are not included.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright light, avoiding harsh direct sun as advised on the original listing. Rotate the pot for even growth.
- Water: Allow the mix to dry between thorough waterings, then let excess drain. Water less often during cool or lower-light periods.
- Soil: Use a gritty, fast-draining succulent mix in a pot with drainage.
- Humidity & temperature: Average indoor humidity is suitable. Protect from frost and prolonged damp cold.
- Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth with diluted succulent fertilizer according to the label.
- Pruning: Remove dried leaves or spent flowers gently as needed.
- Repotting: Repot only when crowded into a slightly larger draining pot with fresh mix.
- Propagation: Established offsets can be carefully divided; let cut areas callus before potting in fast-draining mix.
Pet and child safety: Tiger Jaw is considered non-toxic to pets and children.
