String of Buttons (Ivory Pagoda), Crassula perforata hybrid

Ivory Pagoda brings a sculptural look to a small space. Its upright, branching stems carry closely stacked pairs of thick, blue-green leaves, often traced with red along the edges in bright light. As it grows, new stems fill out the plant and give it that distinctive pagoda-like shape.

Points of interest

  • Geometric foliage: Opposite pairs of leaves stack along the stems like small buttons.
  • Cool color with a red edge: Blue-green leaves can show deeper red margins in brighter light.
  • Compact, branching habit: A distinctive upright accent for a sunny windowsill or succulent display.

Size and what ships

You’ll receive one live plant in its 4-inch plastic grower pot. Current fullness and stem shape vary. With suitable light and care, stems may grow to roughly 12–18 inches over time and branch outward; mature size varies with growing conditions.

Care guide

  • Light: Give it bright light, such as a bright window or gentle morning sun. Protect it from harsh midday sun, and acclimate gradually when increasing direct light.
  • Water: Let the potting mix dry out before watering thoroughly. Allow excess water to drain, and do not leave the plant sitting in water. Water less often during cool or slow-growth periods.
  • Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix in a pot with drainage.
  • Temperature: Keep it warm and protect it from frost and prolonged cold.
  • Humidity: Average indoor humidity is suitable; good airflow is helpful.
  • Feeding: During active growth, feed lightly with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer according to the label. Pause when growth slows.
  • Pruning: Trim damaged or overly long stems as needed to keep the shape compact. Healthy stem cuttings can be used for propagation.
  • Repotting: Repot when roots fill the 4-inch pot or the mix breaks down, moving up only one pot size and refreshing the fast-draining mix.
  • Propagation: Let stem cuttings dry and callus before placing them in dry succulent mix. Water sparingly while roots establish.

Pet and child safety

Keep the plant out of reach of pets and young children, and do not allow chewing. If any part is chewed or ingested, contact a veterinarian or poison-control professional for guidance.

Decorative pot note

The plant ships in its 4-inch plastic grower pot. Terracotta and clay pots shown in styled photos are decorative props, not included or linked as separate products; those styled views show the plant directly planted in the decorative pot.
