Current and mature size
You receive one rooted plant in a 2.5-inch plastic nursery pot. Photos show representative plants; height, branching, fullness, and flowering vary. Mature growth can form a small branching clump approximately 6–12 inches tall under suitable conditions, with spread influenced by growing space and pruning.
Decorative pots and accessories shown in styled photos are not included and are sold separately.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright light with suitable direct sun. Introduce stronger sunlight gradually after shipping to prevent scorch. Indoors, choose your brightest suitable window; weak light can cause stretched stems. Protect from harsh afternoon sun during extreme heat.
- Water: Let the potting mix dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and allow excess to drain. Never leave the pot standing in water. Reduce watering during cool weather or slow growth, and avoid prolonged saturation around the stem bases.
- Soil: Use a fast-draining succulent mix and a pot with drainage holes. Shop our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend, sold separately. Avoid heavy soil and enclosed humid terrariums.
- Feeding: During active spring and summer growth, feed with a slow-release fertilizer. Ready to feed? Shop our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents for steady nutrition for cacti and succulents. Skip feeding while growth is paused, extreme heat or cold. Fertilizer is sold separately; follow its label and avoid overfeeding.
- Temperature and outdoor placement: Protect from frost and sudden extremes. Outdoor suitability depends on local conditions; shelter from prolonged wet weather and provide airflow.
- Maintenance: Remove fully dried leaves gently and trim elongated stems with clean tools as needed. Repot when roots outgrow the container, using fresh, fast-draining mix and a modestly larger pot with drainage.
Pet safety: Sedum is generally considered non-toxic to pets.
