Sedum ‘De Oro’ Golden Stonecrop Succulent, 4-Inch Pot
Sedum ‘De Oro’ brings a bright splash of gold-green foliage to sunny containers and succulent gardens. Small fleshy leaves cluster along branching stems, forming a soft, low-growing mound that can spill over a pot's edge. Foliage becomes more golden with suitable sun exposure and may appear greener in lower light.
Points of interest
- Fine-textured gold-green foliage provides contrast beside larger-leaved succulents.
- A spreading, mat-forming habit suits container edges and well-drained garden settings.
- Color, fullness, and stem length vary naturally with season and growing conditions.
Current and mature size
You receive one rooted plant in a 4-inch plastic nursery pot. Photos show representative plants; each living plant varies. As it matures, expect a low, spreading clump rather than a tall upright plant. Its eventual spread depends on growing space and conditions; trim as needed to keep a compact container display.
Decorative pots and accessories shown in styled photos are not included and are sold separately.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright light with some direct sun. Introduce stronger sun gradually to prevent scorch. Indoors, choose your brightest suitable window; weak light can produce stretched stems and greener foliage.
- Water: Let the potting mix dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Reduce watering during cool weather or slow growth. Never leave the pot standing in water.
- Soil: Use a fast-draining succulent mix and a pot with drainage holes. Shop our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend, sold separately, for a suitable potting option.
- Feeding: During active spring and summer growth, feed with a slow-release fertilizer. Ready to feed? Shop our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents for steady nutrition for cacti and succulents. Skip feeding while growth is paused, extreme heat or cold. Fertilizer is sold separately; follow its label and avoid overfeeding.
- Temperature and outdoor placement: Outdoor performance depends on your local climate. Protect newly received plants from extremes, and do not assume a specific frost tolerance without a verified cultivar hardiness rating. Excellent drainage is especially important during wet, cool weather.
- Maintenance: Remove dried stems and trim elongated growth as needed. Repot when the plant outgrows its container, using fresh, fast-draining mix.
Pet safety: Sedum is generally considered non-toxic to pets.
