Rosary Succulent (Crassula rupestris)
Rosary Succulent is a compact succulent grown for its fresh lime-green and pale white foliage. Its clustered growth adds color and texture to a sunny windowsill, rock garden, or succulent arrangement. Each plant is living and naturally varies in fullness, shape, and color.
Points of interest
- Colorful foliage: Fresh lime-green leaves with pale white or cream areas.
- Clustered growth: Forms a fuller display as it branches and grows.
- Versatile size: A compact choice for a windowsill or a well-drained succulent garden.
Size and what ships
You’ll receive one live Rosary Succulent established in a 4-inch nursery pot. The current plant is shipped in this pot. With time, it can branch and grow fuller than its original container; mature size varies with light, care, and growing conditions.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright light with gentle morning sun. Protect it from harsh midday and intense afternoon sun, especially after moving it from lower light.
- Water: Water thoroughly only after the soil has dried, then let excess drain. Do not leave the plant standing in water; water less often when growth slows in cool weather.
- Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix in a pot with drainage holes.
- Temperature: Keep warm and protect from frost and prolonged cold.
- Humidity: Average indoor humidity is suitable. Good airflow is helpful; misting is not needed.
- Feeding: During active growth, feed lightly with a diluted cactus or succulent fertilizer according to its label. Skip feeding when growth has paused.
- Pruning: Remove dry or damaged growth as needed. Trim leggy stems to maintain the shape; healthy cuttings may be used for propagation.
- Repotting: Repot when roots fill the nursery pot or the mix breaks down, using a slightly larger pot with drainage.
- Propagation: Take healthy stem cuttings, allow the cut ends to callus, then place them in dry, well-draining mix and water sparingly while they root.
