Pink Moonstone (Pachyphytum oviferum ‘Roseum’), 2-Inch Pot
Pink Moonstone (Pachyphytum oviferum ‘Roseum’) has plump, rounded leaves with a soft pink and pastel colors. Some direct sunlight encourages pink tones, while plants grown in lower light tend to look greener. Its pebble-like foliage makes a charming accent for a sunny windowsill or a sheltered patio.
Points of interest
- Thick, rounded leaves store moisture, making this a drought-tolerant succulent.
- Pink coloration varies with light, season, and growing conditions.
- Over time, branching stems can develop into a small, multi-headed succulent shrub
What you’ll receive and mature size
One live Pink Moonstone succulent in a 2-inch nursery pot. This is a young plant, not a mature shrub; leaf count, color, and size vary naturally. Established plants may reach roughly 6–12 inches tall and wide, depending on growing conditions and pruning. Decorative terracotta pots and styling props are not included.
Care guide
- Light: Give very bright light and some direct morning sun. Acclimate gradually to stronger sunlight. Protect from harsh afternoon heat; insufficient light can cause stretched growth and greener leaves.
- Water: Water thoroughly only when the potting mix has dried completely, then let excess water drain. Reduce watering in cool weather or when growth slows. Avoid keeping the soil damp or leaving water in a saucer.
- Soil: Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix with added pumice or perlite, in a pot with drainage holes.
- Temperature and humidity: Ordinary indoor humidity is suitable. Provide airflow and protect from frost, prolonged cold rain, and freezing temperatures.
- Feeding: Feed lightly with a diluted succulent fertilizer during active growth. Avoid heavy feeding or fertilizing a stressed plant.
- Pruning: Remove fully dried lower leaves gently. Trim stretched stems if desired, allowing cut surfaces to callus before propagation.
- Repotting: Repot when roots outgrow the container, choosing a pot only slightly larger. Handle carefully because leaves can detach easily.
- Propagation: Propagate from healthy stem cuttings or intact leaves. Allow wounds to callus, then place on a well-draining mix and avoid keeping it wet.
Pet and child safety
