Pink Jellybean (Sedum pachyphyllum) grows plump, finger-like leaves in soft blue-green tones, with tips that can blush pink to red in suitable light. Its clustered foliage adds playful texture to a bright windowsill or well-drained container display. Color varies naturally with light, season, and individual plant.

Points of interest

  • Thick, jellybean-like leaves with a soft blue-green appearance.
  • Pink to red leaf tips may develop with suitable light; color is not guaranteed at shipping.
  • Branching growth gradually creates a broader cluster.
  • Leaves can detach if handled roughly, so move and repot gently.

Current and mature size

You receive one rooted plant in a 4-inch plastic nursery pot. Photos show representative plants; height, spread, branching, and tip color vary. Mature growth can approach approximately 8–12 inches tall under suitable conditions and spread as stems branch or lean outward. Container size and pruning influence its eventual shape.

Decorative pots and accessories shown in styled photos are not included and are sold separately.

Care guide

  • Light: Provide bright light with suitable direct sun. Introduce stronger sunlight gradually after shipping to prevent scorch. Indoors, choose your brightest suitable window or supplemental grow lighting. Lower light may produce greener tips and stretched growth. Protect from harsh afternoon sun during extreme heat.
  • Water: Let the potting mix dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and drain completely. Never leave the pot standing in water. Reduce watering during cool weather or slow growth and avoid prolonged saturation around the stem bases.
  • Soil: Use a fast-draining succulent mix and a pot with drainage holes. Shop our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend, sold separately. Avoid heavy soil and enclosed humid terrariums.
  • Feeding: During active spring and summer growth, feed lightly with a slow-release fertilizer. Shop our 2 oz Slow-Release Fertilizer for Houseplants & Succulents for steady nutrition for cacti and succulents. Fertilizer is sold separately; follow its label and avoid overfeeding. Skip feeding while growth is paused or during extreme heat or cold.
  • Temperature and outdoor placement: Protect from frost and sudden temperature extremes. Outdoor suitability depends on local conditions; shelter from prolonged wet weather and provide airflow.
  • Maintenance: Handle foliage sparingly to avoid knocking off leaves or rubbing its surface. Remove fully dried leaves gently and trim elongated stems with clean tools as needed. Repot when roots outgrow the container, using fresh, fast-draining mix and a modestly larger pot with drainage.

Pet safety: Sedum is generally considered non-toxic to pets.
