Large Tillandsia Juncea adds height and fine texture to an air plant display with its slender, upright green leaves. At approximately 12–18 inches tall when shipped, this larger-size listing makes a striking accent on an airy mount or in an open holder.

Points of interest

  • Long, slender leaves create a distinctive grass-like silhouette.
  • The 12–18-inch shipping size offers more height than our smaller Juncea listing.
  • Foliage can blush red around flowering; coloration and flowering stage vary.
  • Grows without soil and suits open, well-ventilated displays.

What ships and estimated mature size

You will receive one live Tillandsia Juncea approximately 12–18 inches tall. Each plant naturally varies in size, form, and coloration. Red blush and flowering are not guaranteed on arrival. Holders, pots, mounts, and other decorative props are not included.

Juncea can reach approximately 18 inches tall or more with time and suitable care. Mature size and growth rate depend on growing conditions; this listing supplies the larger 12–18-inch shipping size.

Care guide

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged harsh direct sun, especially through hot glass.
  • Watering: Begin with a 20–30-minute soak in room-temperature water about once a week, adjusting to your home's humidity, temperature, and drying conditions. Supplemental misting may help in dry rooms but should not leave the base persistently wet.
  • Drying and airflow: Gently shake out excess water and dry upside down or on its side with good airflow. Allow it to dry completely within a few hours before returning it to its display.
  • Soil and display: No soil is needed. Choose a stable open holder or mount that supports the tall plant without burying or tightly enclosing its base. Avoid sealed terrariums and standing water.
  • Temperature and humidity: Aim for approximately 50–80°F, protect from frost, and keep away from strong heating or cooling drafts. Monitor hydration more closely in dry rooms while maintaining thorough drying.
  • Feeding: If desired, use fertilizer labeled for air plants according to its dilution and application directions. Avoid overfeeding.
  • Pruning: Gently remove fully dried leaves. Trim dry tips only as needed, preserving healthy growth.
  • Repotting: Conventional repotting is unnecessary. Move to a more spacious, stable holder as the plant grows.
  • Propagation: Mature plants may produce offsets, particularly around flowering. Leave them attached for a clump, or separate well-developed pups carefully without damaging the parent.

Pet safety: Tillandsia Juncea is considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. This is an ornamental plant, not food.
