Haworthia Resendeana Succulent, 2-Inch Pot
Haworthia resendeana is a compact succulent with thick, pointed green leaves and fine pale surface markings. Its neatly layered growth gives a small plant plenty of character, while older specimens gradually develop a more open shape and can produce offsets around the base. It makes an appealing accent for a bright windowsill without needing the intense sun many desert succulents prefer.
Points of interest
- Fleshy, triangular leaves with textured surfaces and fine pale markings.
- Compact, layered growth that becomes more open with maturity.
- Green foliage may darken or develop warmer tones with increased light.
- Can produce offsets and form a small cluster over time.
- A good choice for bright, indirect light rather than harsh all-day sun.
What ships and estimated mature size
You will receive one live Haworthia resendeana growing in a 2-inch nursery pot. Shipping height, leaf count, and fullness vary naturally; a fixed plant height or number of offsets is not guaranteed. Decorative terracotta pots and styling accessories shown in photos are not included and are sold separately.
Mature individual plants can reach roughly 4–6 inches tall and several inches wide, depending on growing conditions. A cluster of offsets can spread wider over time. These are estimated dimensions rather than guaranteed sizes.
Optional planter pairing
When repotting becomes necessary, choose a small terracotta pot with a drainage hole, only slightly larger than the root system. Avoid oversized pots or containers that trap water. Terracotta in styled photos is a separately sold prop, not the nursery pot supplied with your plant.
Care guide
- Light: Provide bright, indirect light. Gentle morning sun can be suitable after gradual acclimation. Protect from intense afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves; deep shade can cause stretched growth.
- Watering: Allow the potting mix to dry throughout before watering thoroughly and letting excess water drain. Never leave the pot standing in water. Reduce watering when growth slows during extreme heat or cooler conditions. Avoid allowing water to sit in the center of the plant.
- Soil: Use a gritty, fast-draining mix such as our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend, sold separately. Add pumice or similar mineral material if the mix stays damp too long. Avoid dense, moisture-retentive houseplant soil.
- Humidity: Normal household humidity is suitable. Good airflow matters more than extra humidity; do not mist or keep in a sealed terrarium.
- Temperature: Keep in a comfortable, frost-free environment, ideally around 60–80°F. Protect from freezing temperatures and prolonged extreme heat.
- Feeding: Feed sparingly during active growth. Our Slow-Release Fertilizer, sold separately, is suitable for potted succulents; follow its application directions and adjust the amount for this small 2-inch pot. Do not combine it with additional routine fertilizer. Avoid feeding stressed plants or during periods of slowed growth.
- Pruning: No shaping is necessary. Gently remove fully dried lower leaves and trim a spent flower stalk with clean scissors once dry.
- Repotting: Repot when roots become crowded, offsets fill the pot, or the mix no longer drains well. Use a draining pot only one size larger, preserve healthy roots, and let damaged roots heal before watering.
- Propagation: Separate established offsets that have their own roots when repotting. Allow any cut surfaces to dry before potting into a gritty mix. Leaving offsets attached creates a fuller cluster.
Pet safety: Haworthias are considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
