Echeveria ‘Chroma’ Succulent, 4-Inch Pot
Echeveria ‘Chroma’ brings rich, changeable foliage to a bright succulent collection. Its fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves form rosettes with green, bronze, chocolate, and purple-toned coloring that varies with light, season, and growing conditions. The original plant photos show predominantly green-to-bronze foliage, so deep purple coloring is not guaranteed.
Points of interest
- Fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves arranged in rosettes.
- Naturally shifting green, bronze, chocolate, and purple-toned coloring.
- Can produce offsets and develop a fuller cluster over time.
- Seasonal flower stalks may develop; a blooming plant is not guaranteed.
- Suitable for bright indoor spaces or sheltered outdoor containers in frost-free conditions.
What ships and estimated mature size
You will receive one live Echeveria ‘Chroma’ growing in a 4-inch nursery pot. Plant height, rosette count, fullness, coloration, and presence of a flower stalk vary naturally. Decorative terracotta pots and other styling accessories are not included and are sold separately.
Mature rosettes can reach roughly 4–6 inches across, with a wider footprint as offsets develop. Height depends on the growing form and light; flower stalks can extend well above the foliage. These are estimated dimensions, not guaranteed sizes.
Optional planter pairing
When repotting is needed, choose a modest terracotta pot with a drainage hole, only slightly larger than the root system. Avoid oversized containers and closed pots that trap water. Terracotta shown in styled photos is a separately sold prop, not the nursery pot supplied with your plant.
Care guide
- Light: Provide very bright light with several hours of gentle direct sun, acclimating gradually to stronger exposure. Indoors, choose a bright window or suitable grow light. Protect from sudden intense afternoon sun and heat. Color shifts naturally; do not force darker coloring with excessive sun exposure.
- Watering: Allow the mix to dry throughout before watering thoroughly and draining completely. Never leave the pot standing in water. Reduce watering when growth slows in cooler conditions or extreme heat. Direct water to the soil rather than leaving it pooled in the rosettes.
- Soil: Use a fast-draining mix such as our Succulent & Cactus Soil Blend, sold separately. Add pumice or similar grit if the mix stays damp too long in your growing conditions. Always use a pot with drainage.
- Humidity: Normal household humidity is suitable. Provide good airflow; avoid misting, sealed terrariums, and persistent moisture on the foliage.
- Temperature: Keep in a comfortable, frost-free setting. Protect from freezing temperatures and prolonged extreme heat. Shelter outdoor pots from extended cold, wet weather.
- Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth with our Slow-Release Fertilizer, sold separately, following its directions for potted succulents. Do not combine it with additional routine fertilizer. Avoid feeding stressed plants or during periods of slowed growth.
- Pruning: Gently remove fully dried lower leaves. Trim a spent flower stalk near its base with clean scissors after flowering. Avoid removing healthy leaves simply because their color changes.
- Repotting: Repot when roots or offsets crowd the container, using a draining pot only one size larger. Handle leaves gently and let damaged roots heal before watering.
- Propagation: Established offsets and stem cuttings are practical options. Healthy intact leaves may also root, though success varies. Let cut surfaces callus before placing on or in a gritty mix, and avoid keeping unrooted pieces wet.
Pet safety: Echeverias are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
