Cyclamen Persicum Persian Violet.  Colorful flowering houseplant. Amazing blooms rise above the main plant and can be white, pink, red, purple, and multicolored.  Bloom in fall-spring and go dormant in summer if temps exceed 70F.  During summer dormancy they will lose some leaves or all of them, but they grow back as soon as it cools down in fall.  These plants prefer temps on the cool side 40-50F at night and 60-70F daytime.  Keep in bright filtered light to partial sun.  Water to keep soil evenly moist but allow top of soil to dry somewhat before watering again.  Avoid getting leaves wet, which can cause rot.  Bottom watering is best.  Place the pot in a shallow dish of water until it draws up enough moisture.  Reduce watering during summer dormancy.  Soil should be organically rich and well-draining.  Adding sphagnum peat will help lower PH if needed.  Feed plants with a low nitrogen fertilizer in fall-spring.  No need to fertilize in summer dormancy.
